Work that fits how your ranch runs

Whether you've had a run of losses this month or want steady pressure on predators year-round, we set up a plan around your pastures, your stock and your schedule.

Coyotes · Bobcats

Predator control

Targeted removal of the animals killing your stock. We walk the property, read the sign and find where predators are moving before setting a single trap.

Snares · Foothold traps

Trapping

Sets placed on fence crossings, trails and water where predators travel. Every snare is handmade and checked on a regular schedule.

After dark

Night calling

Calling and removing coyotes at night, when they are most active and closest to your pens. Effective for knocking down numbers fast after a kill.

Year-round · Winter · One-time

Contracts & bookings

Some ranches we work year-round, nonstop. Most book us for a set stretch of time during the winter, and we take one-time jobs too. Pricing is set per ranch.

Aerial helicopter eradication

We work closely with helicopter companies based in Southwest Texas. We do the locating and research on the ground first, so the helicopter crews know where to fly and can respond to predation faster. Helicopter operations can be booked through us.

About

A ranching family with deep roots in Southwest Texas

H4 Predator Control is owned and run by Tyler Hill, who has been raising sheep on his family's ranch since he could walk. He spent his school years in 4-H, showing sheep and goats across Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from Angelo State University. He now works on ASU's ranch as a student research assistant and will finish his Master of Science in Animal Science this December.

Tyler works alongside his dad, grandfather and brother. The Hill family has been ranching these parts for generations, and together we've earned countless awards and recognition for the herds we've bred and raised. We know what a coyote can do to a flock in one night because we've seen it on our own place.

Our mission
We've walked our own pastures at first light and found what a coyote left behind. We've lost lambs and kids we raised by hand, and we know what those losses cost a ranch. That's why H4 exists. We don't do this for ourselves. We do it for the ranchers and stockmen who are in trouble and need someone in their corner.

Built by hand

Every snare is made by hand

We build every snare ourselves, so we know exactly how each one will hold and release. That attention shows up in clean catches and fewer misses on your property.

Trap your own place? The same snares we run are for sale to ranchers and trappers. $50 per dozen Local pickup or shipped to you.

FAQ

How working with H4 goes

The short version of our service agreement. Call or text for pricing on your ranch.

How does billing work?

Trapping and snaring are billed by the day. Locating work is billed by the hour and by the mile. Invoices go out by email or mail and are due within 7 days.

How long does a contract run?

You choose. Some ranches keep us on year-round, and most book a set stretch during the winter. Start and end dates can be adjusted as things change, and either side can cancel with 7 days' written notice.

Who will be working on my property?

Tyler and Trevor Hill run every job. Only H4 sets, checks and removes traps and equipment on your place.

Are snares included?

Yes. Our handmade snares are included whenever daily trapping is under way on your ranch. We also sell them for $50 a dozen, shipped or local pickup, if you'd rather set your own.

How do helicopter jobs work?

We do the locating on the ground first, then line up the helicopter company ourselves. We always check with you before bringing anyone else onto your property.

Do you release trapped animals?

No. For safety, trapped predators are not released alive.

What do you need from me?

Access to the property as often as needed to set, check and pull traps, plus a description of the pastures and stock you want covered.
